I have no idea what this “bug” is but it hit me pretty hard a few days ago. Please forgive me if the posts are slow in coming. Of course I turn into a typical man when I get sick and really the only thing I want is to be back home with my mom getting comfort and soup (or probably grits)… but… I’ll live. (i think)
Today (after a ton of sleep and fluids) I’m feeling a little better. My friends have been here and I actually got a really interesting old Hungarian “wives trick” for maladies which I’m told has also been corroborated by a Belarusian. It was something about drinking raspberry jam (seeds included) as a kind of tea. Supposedly it works every time.
So, there you go. I’m off to try it. Meanwhile, as I’m apt to do, in times like these I turn to music for comfort. Particularly if there’s a relevant and sad personal story for me behind the song. Yeah, I’m strange.
Also, whether you enjoy the song or not please indulge me and listen at the 1:54 mark for my favorite part of the song:
You can hear Sly urging his sister on from the background pleading, “…Sang, Rose”. It makes me ache in the good way every time. So maybe… just maybe it’s better than raspberry jam… for the soul?
Oh and I’m still taking cures for maladies… till this thing is gone! Comments are encouraged.
Que Sera Sera
So… I’m sick.

Please enjoy (sorry there’s no video just the song) this excellent rendition of“Que Sera Sera” by Sly and the Family Stone .
